This is my very first oil painting. When I was around 16 I got a set of oils for my birthday, and I copied this picture from Walter Foster's HOW TO DRAW HORSES book. This looks so much like our horse Gabe, who posed for KODA. It is amazing that 40 years later I am painting something so similar. I never dreamed at that time that I would be able to paint horses for a living!
In the future I plan to offer some pointers on drawing horses and some free coloring pages. I will probably wait until the series comes out in March, as no one really knows about this blog, yet!
